This is the first tactics or strategy game I played. Best game but not the greatest, I much prefer Fire Emblem
Tactics for PSX is better than the GBA "Tactics Advance" and I have yet to play the PSP one
This is the {in my opinion} GREATEST TRPG in the history of gaming. It's free of the stupid rock-paper-scissors class balance system, and the limits of the game are endless. There are codes(if you own a cheat device) which allow you to make the game so hard that completing it is a mark of true skill. Or you can create your own special characters, ability sets, really anything within the game is possible. Even without said device, the story is as dark and rich as possible, and the translations errors serve as comic relief rather than hampering your progress through the game. Overall, this is a must own/play for any gamer alive.
I'll go straight the same for Anbutou! This is the best TRPG that's ever made !!
with all those character, strong figure,an awesome story...one of the best games I've ever played~
This game is amazing in every regard! It never gets boring and the hidden dungeon is real hard but easy to figure out. The music is just uncredible, great battle music and everything. And one more thing......you are able to get monsters to join you! I DEFINETLY give this 5 stars. :D
Its a realy great game
thanks
This is one of the rpgs that ill go back to play and complete
Mind bogglingly complex story, in depth class/job system, almost endless variety and tons of secrets to find. I will admit that the GBA version made some improvements to the battle system (like the ability to take back a move if it left you out of range for attacks). All around great game
The final fantsy series always rocks.
I like this, but not as much as the GBA's "Final Fantasy Tactics Advance". The flaw with it's PSX counterpart is you have to wait turns after designating a move, giving opponents plenty of time to dodge any decent attack.
Ill test this first, then the GBA one and last the PSP one...who knows when the DS one xD...anyway the game is a leyend, one of the first FF's without number, you gotta give some credit to that.
This game rules, as you see from the other comments. I actualy MUCH prefer it over the GBA version.
This game is still the standard for this genre of games. Remakes of this game do not do this game justice.
I'm still playing it...unbelieavable....
Still better than DS or GBA versions!!
I think Final Fantasy Tactics still the greatest TRPG all this time, no matter similar games come, and FF Tactics had strong story, good music, easy to control, and very interactive with player to build army.
awesome game ~
This was unlike any final fantasy game I have every played in the series up to its release. The game is not easy but there is plenty of customizing characters and micromanaging. (if you enjoy that kinda of play). the feild of play is on a square grid with height dementions.
the story is great and has lots of replay value for finding new characters or learing or their story in the game. There is even a way to find Cloud for FF7 in the game. Its not easy and you need to find his weapon to make him afective.
For people who like a challenge i recommend this game. don't expect random battles.
PSP made an identical version of FFT. I was hoping it would go to the DS
Oh and i am not sure how the first guy who left a comment can compare final fantasy tactics to fire emblem. FFT is much more complex.
Wow, for those of you who are saying that GBA's version was better because you can cancel movement that puts u out of range of mobs....please, enjoy the game for what it is, in my opinion the GBA made it less strategy based because of that change to the combat system. It was a game where u NEEDED to think ahead of your turn that you are currently doing, and take note of enemy patterns. Please for the love of dog, dont pass a chance to get this game. Everyone has their own opinion on what makes a game good, but very few that truely enjoyed the PSX version went on to enjoy the GBA version as much. not saying the gba one is bad, it is good in its own sence.
Simply put the top tier of stragedy RPG'S that have ever been released, or most likely ever will be released. The best version IMO,DS and GBA are ok, haven't played PSP, but this game ate over two hundred hours of my life. The best two hundered I had, plus Cloud is here. What more needs to be said?
There is a FFT for DS, but i much prefer this one. (DS version is called- FFT: Grimore of the Rift)
Great game!!!
Which is better FFT or tactics ogre????
Thanks.... I love FF
This is great but yeah... gba fire emblem is better and the tactics ff in gba
WHY IS THIS TAGED FPS
It is Tagged FPS because it might as well be one with how awesome it is
No really play the game buy the Disk put the Disk on an Altar then Pray to it Everyday!!! I know i Do
The Ultimate Final Fantasy on the PSX. Even beats FF7.
I've played Fire Emblem, Tactics Ogre and all the versions of FFT, and I find this to be the best and the PSP's version is good!
A Game I have really enjoyed, highly reccomended.
Best TRPG ever.
This is so good that i'm dedicating a fanfic to it :)
I really love th GBA version. With all this micromanagment. Should check the PS1-version out these days. The Fact for the GBA- Tactics is: SUCH a lame story!!! Hopefully the PS1 gots an interesting one. How cognate IS the PS1-Version across from the GBAdvance-Version,i wonder???? (Apart from grfx,of course)
Check out "Vandal Hearts" and "Legend of Kartia" for the PS1 if you like this one. Very similar.
Sarah Kreuz,
The PS1 game is different than the GBA game. The PS1 game has a much deeper and interesting storyline, and has a different skill system.
I like the PS1 version MUCH better than the GBA version, and I'm sure you will too.
I owned this game a long time ago but had to sell it to pay rent. Thank you for putting this up.
It's a great game I recommend to anyone.
yep, this ones better than the GBA, but since they have different stories and features, i guess you really cant compare them cause their like totally different games, just the names the same.
and yup try Vandal hearts 1
I think this is better than the GBA version because the battle system is fun to use and to tinker with, I think Gba still has a interesting story though...i wished they made a sequal with better graphics and new visual affects to continue the line but I have to say FFT still is a great game today, i'm going on my third time beating the game, still doesn't bore me...it's crazy how you can invite your enemies to join you in any battle except for the major one's...try inviting them and they're likely to kill you...trust me i've tried
this is 10x better then the GBA version, better then ogre tactics, better then vandal hearts (only because the more dynamic class system). on top of a amazing story and plot. the PSP version is the same version with few differences. basically its the same game with a few ne features like being able to play the dark knight class (gafgarions class) and the onion knight (ff3 i think?)
Foooo
